Ex-Barangay Chair survived from shooting incident in Tabina


TABINA, Zamboanga del Sur (April 15, 2018) – The former Barangay Chairman planning to run this Barangay and SK Election survived from a shooting incident transpired at Purok Sidlak, Barangay Capisan in this municipality Saturday 9:30pm, Police Official said.

Case Investigator SPO1 Nimrod B. Baja identified the victim as Marioa Estrebor Sajulga, 44 years old, married, businessman, former barangay captain and a resident of Purok 1, Barangay Matin-Ao, Pitogo, of this province and planning to run for barangay captain of barangay Matin-ao of same municipality.

Initial investigation conducted disclosed that the warehouse of the victim was shot by unidentified persons using a Cal 5.56mm rifle based on the forty two (42) pcs of fired cartridge cases of same caliber recovered at the crime scene, Case Investigator said.    
  
Further investigation revealed that, prior to the incident, the said victim was fixing the battery of his bonggo (Mazda) parked outside his warehouse while his family were all inside the warehouse watching television, SPO1 Baja added. Fortunately, nobody was hurt during the incident.

Right after the incident, suspect fled towards the ravine area of Barangay Matinao, Pitogo, Zamboanga del Sur. PNP elements of Tabina MPS conducted follow up investigation for possible arrest of the suspect while the motive believed to be an election related incident. (By Jong Cadion)
