Lightning Incident

TABINA, Zamboanga del Sur - Lightning incident occurred at Purok Quarry Barangay Abong-abong, Tabina, Zamboanga del Sur at about 7:15 AM of May 26, 2019.

The victim was identified as Roger Guillena Jr y Harden, 16 years old, grade 8 students and a resident of Purok Quarry, Barangay Abong-abong, Tabina, Zamboanga del sur. 

Investigation conducted disclosed that at about 5:30 AM of the same day, the victim went alone to Barangay Poblacion, Tabina, Zamboanga del Sur to buy a spare part for their pump boat and boarded on a paddled banca of their neighbor. At about 7:15 AM, the person of Ronilo Ocang saw a banca heading towards Purok Quarry when lighting suddenly struck and the person boarded in the said banca fell.

Immediately, he informed other fishermen/concern citizens on their area and search was conducted, wherein at about 8:05 AM, the body of Roger Guillena Jr y Harden was found and was immediately brought to their house.

CPR and other revival processes were conducted but to no avail. The attending medical personnel of Tabina Rural Health Unit declared the victim dead.

Shooting Incident

TABINA, Zamboanga del Sur - Shooting incident took place at Purok Waling-Waling, Barangay New Oroquieta, Tabina, Zamboanga del Sur at about 12:15 AM, April 30, 2019. 

Police Brigadier Gen. Emmanuel Luis D Licup, PRO9 Director identified the victim as Marcelo Gonzaga Masayon, 58 years old, married, farmer, and a resident of afore said place.

He was shot several times by five suspects identified as
Robert Maco a.k.a. Berting;
Salvino Pastoriza a.k.a. Eugene;
Jonel Mamentas;
Roberto Almazon a.k.a RoyRoy; and
Rupierto Isanan.

Investigation disclosed that prior to the incident, said victim along with his family were sleeping inside their house of said place when shot several times by the above-mentioned suspects. Luckily, no one was hurt during the incident.

Evidence recovered from the crime scene are two (2) fired cartridge cases of caliber 7.62 and one (1) live ammunition of same caliber.

PNP personnel of Tabina MPS conducted thorough investigation and follow up operation to possibly locate and arrest the fleeing suspects.

Appropriate charges are being prepared for filing in court against the suspects.

Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office
